On the first day of the second Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy being played at Edgbaston ground in Birmingham, the Indian team performed brilliantly and scored 310 runs for 5 wickets against England by the end of the day’s play. Captain Shubman Gill returned unbeaten on 114 runs and Ravindra Jadeja on 41 runs, and there has been an unbeaten partnership of 99 runs between the two.
Gill’s century puts India in a strong position
Captain Shubman Gill hit another memorable century and took the team out of a difficult situation and put it in a strong position. Gill celebrated by hitting two consecutive fours in Joe Root’s over to reach his century. This is his second consecutive Test century and the 8th century of his Test career.

England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to bowl, which proved right in the initial overs.
